Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Maryland

Threatening behavior at work

I have a co-worker who is has a very explosive personality. Today she called into the office and on my extension. My boss happened to be sitting there and answered my phone. The co-worker was lying about there was no money for our paychecks to be cashed (which is a common occurrence) my boss asked what was wrong, I told her, but I said I think the person was only kidding. I called the person back again and asked her to tell me the truth and she said there was no money. Needless to say she was lying, and when I was at the bank, my boss yelled at her. When I returned my boss had left for the day, and the coworked stated ''If I lose my job I will fuck you up.'' This is the second time in a month she has threatened this in the office. Before I go to HR, I was wondering if there is anything that can be done. I am pregnant and do not feel that I deserve this.

Re: Threatening behavior at work

I think you should speak first to your boss, especially since she has some insight into this situation. She should have a talk with the co-worker and put her on notice that this behavior won't be tolerated. If the boss won't intervene, then go to HR about it. You shouldn't have to come to work fearing for your safety.
