Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Maryland

My vehicle driven by an uninsured motorist

My vehicle was borrowed from a ''friend'', who totaled the car. While I did give permission to borrow the car, I did not know the driver was uninsured. Is there any legal way to get restitution for the value of the car. The car is worth between $2,500 and $3,000 and I did not have collision coverage on the vehicle.

You can sue your "friend" for damages, and try to collect through his job or a bank account, if he has either.
