Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Maryland

Last week i had a construction company block off the entrance to my business for a full day, and the subsequent days (5) my driveway was cut off in half. I was never notified in advance of the pending work in anyway. My business signs were clearly visible for all.

I have a bridal shop business and i am thinking of filing a claim for loss of business. Do i have a case?

The first issue would be whether the construction company had a permit to do what they did. what efforts did you make to remedy the situation during this time period. Is your business in a business park or strip center, and if so, did your landlord authorize this? Then you would have to be able to prove with some certitude that you lost business because of this and the value of that business. You would have to rely on your sales records for this. It's a difficult case.
