Re: citizenship

The short and quick answer would be yes. However, a US citizen wanting to marry an illegal alien should be aware of the inherent risk that the illegal alien may be placed in removal proceedings and may or may not be eligible for relief from deportation, depending on the specific facts of his or her case. Sometimes, even the fact that an illegal alien is married to a US citizen does not make a difference if the immigration service is seeking to deport the illegal alien.

You should consult with an immigration professional to see whehter, if the illegal alien married to a US citizen may be able to legalize his or her status through adjustment of status or some other form of legalization.

Our firm specializes in immigration law and can be retained for adjustment of status or any other immigration-related matter. If you wish to discuss more, please do not hesitate to contact me.
