Legal Question in Immigration Law in Maryland

I-130 process

I file I-130 for my mother to vermont center because I live in maryland 4 months ago. I wa told I-130 was supposed to be processed within 3 months. Do I have a choice to file I-130 again to california center (hiring a lawyer) to speed up the process?

Re: I-130 process

According to the US CIS web site (www.uscis.gov), the Vermont Service Center is currently processing I-130 applications with receipt notice dates of March 12, 2006. Roughly a 1 year backlog.

As long as you live in MD, VSC is the place to file. You cannot pick another service center just because it may have a shorter backlog.
