The issue is not which will be faster. If you want speed, you won't get it. The issue is whether you want to wait on consular processing timetable. Sure the I-130 will be approved, but then you have to wait for all the consular processing, etc., and that OFTEN creates a delay. But it's up to you. Both options may take the same time to process the applications (and that is what Baltimore tells you) -- what they don't tell you is how long AFTER the application is processed to bring the person to the U.S. So, it's up to you. (Be careful with what they tell you at an Infopass!) I can't explain why the government is so slow on every type of application. Pick one and then go for it. Good luck!

Dear Inquirer:

The "processing times" you are reading refer only to the processing time for USCIS to adjudicate the petition. They do not include the time for the State Department to forward the I-130 visa petition to the Embassy or consultate for visa processing.

I recommend that you email [email protected] or visit www.hanlonlawgroup.com for more information.
