Legal Question in Insurance Law in Maryland
Broken Pipe Water Damage to owners below
I have a condo and a water pipe broke damaging 2 other condo's below me.
Our Bylaws say nothing about this situation.
Am I automatically liable for all the damages to the units below?
I have insurance. One owner is very upset with me even though I have asked him to contact me about it right after it happened. He alread has started repairs without my insurance company adjuster having a chance to review damages.
Am I liable for all damage and did the owner void his opportunity to have me pay by not first letting my insurance companies adjuster inspect the damages?
Thanks,

He has filed under his own insurance and his company will deal with you or your insurance company. Be sure to notify your insurance company so that you avoid a lapse of coverage. You should speak with an attorney if matters are not resolving appropriately. Contact an attorney.
