hit parked car
my car was hit by a guy in the parking lot who was driving a rental casr. the rental car agent is trying to avoid paying for my rental he keeps trying to make me pay out of pocket he says he will send an adjustor out to look at the damage and mail me a check. is this right?

Apparently there was coverage for operation of the rental car and you can claim for recovery under that insurance. Alternatively you can claim under your property coverage and then your insurer will seek recovery on your behalf. If you are not getting your vehicle repaired you still should be made whole as to the damages. Consider taking your car to a repair shop or two so as to ensure reasonableness of the adjuster's appraisal. Depending on the extent of damage further repair items may be indentified that were not initially known and supplemental coverage will be needed where an after known item is identified.
