Insurance Fraud Penalty
What penalties will I face for helping someone make a false auto insurance claim (listing myself as the driver to protect the actual driver from a dwi/dui)?

Re: Insurance Fraud Penalty
You face both criminal and civil penalties. If you shielded an alcohol impaired driver from
the police by lying or misrepresentation, criminal charges for obstruction may issue. Other criminal charges may exist and are
based on the facts, most notable is criminal fraud.
Civil charges can also be brought by the insurance company and potentially by the other driver (if applicable).
Should you receive a civil complaint or criminal charging document, you should not hesitate to contact an attorney.
