Legal Question in Insurance Law in Maryland
What can i do to make the owners of the vacant condo next door to me, turn on their heat before a pipe freezes and bursts and then floods my condo?
1 Answer from Attorneys
A couple suggestions:
1.) If you are part of a condo association, you may request that the condo association (i) contact the owner and make the request; and if the owner fails to do so, (ii) enter the unit under the condo association's right of "self-help" in emergency situations and do it themselves.
2.) Try and locate the owner online and contact them both by phone and in writing. Explain that you are scared that their pipes are going to burst and flood your unit. Also politely explain that if that happens, they are liable for any such damage.
Best of luck.******The above is for informational purposes and does not create an attorney-client privilege*******
