Re: multiple insurances

I have encountered a sitution with a claim that is related to this issue. In this instance the claims investigator alleged that duplicitous coverage was illegal. He was proven wrong.

It, however, may be VERY unwise to have more than one policy. Indemnificaiton language can be precise and not always obvious as to the meaning. Conceivably you could have a situation with two policies that cancel each other out as to coverage or otherwise diminish your recovery. In addition, anti-stacking provisions may apply and you will only be able to legally collect once on your loss. Now I do not want you to mis-interprete as the word "loss" is, in itself, technical when it comes to insurance matters.
