Legal Question in Insurance Law in Maryland
my "in network" dentist is charging me 3 to 4 times more than my insurance providers "allowable fee". I pay in full at the time of visit.is this legal in maryland?
Provider says $44 was my co-pay, dentist charged me $148.60

You do not identify the type of insurance which has a bearing upon the service provisions and reimbursement for the dentist. The service provider may be obligated to set rates depending on the insurance. The dentist may be obligated to accept the service provider's rates with set fees that you pay. Although billing practices vary the service provider may be obligated to make payments that the dentist accepts with payments to be made by the client, you.
