Legal Question in Insurance Law in Maryland
I was recently at a party at a home that I had never been to before. Was in their kitchen with a bunch of people and went to open door to go out onto deck to get some fresh air - and walked out door - but there was no deck, fell ten feet. Did not have any idea. Of course, next day the owner put pickets up on the door so that if anyone else did the same they would be stopped. He is saying that because he has a sign posted saying not responsible for accidents on his property that there is no liability???

The sign does not prevent you from making a claim based on his negligence.
