Rights After contractor damaged property

Last July we had a new air conditioner installed at our house. During the process of installing the unit, they damaged a portion of our aluminum siding. We have had 7 different siding contractors look at the damage and each one independently has told us it cannot be fixed; only solution is to replace all the siding, on the rear of our house. Because our siding that is currently on our house is no longer manufactured, this would result in the back siding not matching the front.

Our question is, do we have any legal recourse to force them into reimbursing us the full cost of the repair, which will involve all new siding on our house? Our primary concern is that we do not loose resale value when it comes time to move.

Depending on the nature and extent of the situation you may be entitled to replacement of the siding. The contractor may or may not have indemnity insurance. In any case you should take action swiftly to avoid statutory limitation or the company going out of business. Contact an attorney for assistance.
