Legal Question in Intellectual Property in Maryland

I have a logo that includes an image and font that I wish to register. Do I have to register the name and the image separately or can I do both at the same time? What is the least expensive way to do so?

You can register the entire logo at the same time, and that is the least expensive way to do it. Registering each element individually would require two applications and therefore two government fees. However, you might consider whether, if the font consists of your business name, you might be better off just registering your business name. Check out a blog post I wrote on that topic: http://patents101.com/2011/08/trademark-business-name-or-logo/
