Legal Question in Intellectual Property in Maryland
I would like to purchase a book and put it online for people to view for money. They would not be able to print the pages, but they would pay a fee to view. Is this illegal, or is it just illegal if I redistribute (i.e. printed copies)? Thanks in advance.

What is your definition of "copy?" A physical piece of paper, or a transient electronic document which one can pull up on the computer screen? The Supremes use the latter definition. It's copyright infringement.
