Legal Question in Juvenile Dependency in Maryland

Are officers required to contact parents/guardians of the minor in this situation (Maryland): A minor and an adult are stopped by officers and the adult, who is the boyfriend of the minor, is taken to jail. The minor is left alone with the adult's vehicle, without a license, in the location of arrest. Is it a Maryland state law that officers must contact parents or gaurdians of minors in situations such as this?

I don't believe there is any requirement, unless the juvenile is charged or detained.
