Hello. Starting a business is exciting but it does involve a bit of planning. Among other things you should determine whether your desired type of work has any regulations/license requirements, how you will raise capital (where the money to start the business will come from), how you will manage the business (will you have a few owners? just yourself?), how you will grow the business (will you want investors?) what type of entity you will use (corporation, LLC, etc.), where you will operate the business (will you lease space? purchase property? run it out of your home?) whether you will have employees and what trade name you will operate under.
Family entertainment may cover many different types of businesses -- different requirements may apply to different types of entertainment businesses (e.g., you will need certain licenses to sell media, different considerations apply if you want to broadcast shows, put on live performances and so forth).
You may want to sit down and discuss your business plans with a qualified attorney. It often is helpful to consult an accountant as well. My firm offers a comprehensive small business start-up package for a flat fee that includes an attorney meeting to discuss your goals and plans, researching trade name(s), filing Articles, setting up federal and state tax accounts, creating an operating agreement and corporate record book and holding the initial organization meeting. Other attorneys assisting small business start-ups may offer different services and/or fees.
Note that this post is not legal advice nor a promise to represent but I hope it helps point you in the right direction.
