can a company make you resign if you are unable to go to another store

711 stores are closing all maryland stores can we be forced to resign if we are unable to go to some of the stores that they told us that was avaiable i dont drive and some of the stores are out of the way or no bus service there

You can not be forced to resign. They can lay you off, which is preferable so that you can collect unemployment. Of course, if they offer severance in return for your resigning and signing a waiver, that is okay if you want to accept the deal. Otherwise, there is no requirement that they offer severance pay.

To be clear, do not resign. Let them lay you off so that you remain eligible for unemployment insurance.
