Employee non-compete agreement

Is there a way you can get out of an Employee non compete aggrement with your employer in the State of Maryland?

No compete agreements are susceptible to numerous types of challenges in Maryland. Typically, such agreements are challenged because they were obtained without payment of valid consideration; because they are too broad in scope; because they are too restrictive, etc. However, courts do enforce them regulalry. Unfortunately, it is virtually impossible to give any advice on this issue without reading the actual agreement and then getting the whole set of facts from you as to the circumstances of the employment that gave rise to the agreement.
