Legal Question in Employment Law in Maryland
Do I have to be a gloryfied babysitter?
Ive been working day shift for over 10 years, now I must work one evening shift every few weeks, they play all night long, and the food that is cooked comes out wrong, they are getting paid by the hour and I am relying on tips, I've had to send my busser home, from not wanting to work, and have had to keep going outside to get the cooks and crew. I wrote a letter to my employer that says that they are not profecional enough for me to work with and that I will no longer work any more nights. Now have to have a special meeting with him this Saturday..Do I have to be a gloryfied babysitter? Do you have any solutions?

As with any job, you need to do what the employer assigns for you (as long as it is not illegal). I recommend trying to calmly and rationally explain your concerns, but do not refuse to do the work. If you refuse the assigment, they undoubtedly will fire you. Of course, you can quit if you do not like the work, or do not feel that you can "babysit".
Good luck.
