Being Hired

An Organization say's they want to hire you. They make you an offer of employment, But you have to give up the job you have in order to pursue this position is there any legal recourse for giving up a position thinking that you will be hired, and then not being hired at all?

Re: Being Hired

It REALLY depends on the circumstances. Until relatively recently, the answer would have been absolutely not. However, in just the past few years, the Maryland courts have sometimes held that employees could recover in such circumstances. However, everything depends on the precise facts.

Please feel free to give me a ring at my office if you would like to explore the precise facts of your case.
