Legal Question in Employment Law in Maryland
Is it legal to place a GPS tracking device (black box) on a company-owned vehicle without telling the driver? I'm assuming that since the vehicle is title and registered to the company, then the company can do whatever it wants with the vehicle. Also, does an employment contract have to mention that company vehicles are outfitted with GPS tracking devices?

If it's the company's vehicle, they can do anything they want to it (within the law), including putting a GPS tracking device on it. There are LOTS of reasons a company would want to have tracking devices on its vehicles. Why would the company be required to disclose that information to its employees? Is there something about the use of the GPS tracking device that offends you? Is the company using the device for some nefarious purpose?
I can't give a specific answer to a vague questions.
