Legal Question in Employment Law in Maryland
The Mortgage Lender I was employed terminated my employment this past week (or so I've heard) nothing in writing but my Manager assured me he would see to it that I rec'd. my final commission amounting to a little over $2K. Unfortunately, they terminated him on Friday. I tried to copy the commission paragraph in my employment contract but your system sent me notice - too large to send. Please advise. Thank you.

Hello. I am sorry to hear that you were let go from your job. Employees fall into one of two categories -- "at will" employees who can be fired at any time for almost any reason and contract employees whose discharge and pay must comply with the contract. Either type of employee may have a claim for unpaid wages. Unfortunately, your question does not lend itself to an online post since it is not a general legal question but rather one that will require review of your contract and facts surrounding your firing and entitlement to any commission --- you may wish to hire a lawyer to review your employment contract and advise on your entitlement to a commission.
Note that this answer is not legal advice but I hope it helps you understand what steps to take next.
