Legal Question in Employment Law in Maryland

I am an online appointment setter from the Philippines, I was hired by a Maryland employer last 6/27/10. I was receiving my salary promptly for the first few weeks. The last time I got paid was last 7/28/10, last 8/30/10 my employer asked me to stop working because he will do the appointment setting by himself. But until now he did not pay me the hours I worked for him which amounted to $913.50 and he sent me an email today that he will not pay me.We did not have a contract as everything agreed was verbal, do i have a chance to get my salary? I am not familiar of the US law on unpaid salary. Please help me,thanks

If you are physically located in Maryland, you can file a small claims action in the Magistrate Court in the county in which the business is located to recover the sums you were owed for services rendered. If you are not physically in Maryland, I would recommend hiring a Maryland attorney to try and recover for you. Best of luck.
