Legal Question in Employment Law in Maryland
i was recently fired about 3 weeks ago. yesterday one of my old employees contacted me and told me that my old boss, Loretta, had told her that charges were going to pressed on me for a deposit that is missing from the last night that i closed the store. company policy is that the opening person is supposed to take the deposit to the bank from the day before. i did not open the store the following day. but now i am being blamed for it. what should i do? i contacted my old boss, Loretta, and she pretty much blew me off saying that i should listen to gossip and that she knew nothing of the situation and had nothing to say on this matter. but my old employee, the one who contacted me about this matter, said that i should be expecting a phone call from and/or something in the mail.
