Legal Question in Employment Law in Maryland

I recently left my job and the next payday is on Monday labor day. The employer is located in Rockville, MD. I know by MD state law he has to pay me the preceding work day but since the federal law does not require him to close on Labor Day, he might open the office. Does he still have to pay me on Friday (preceding workday) or since he will operate that day it doesn't matter. I reside in VA if that makes a difference.

He is only required to pay you for what you worked. Best of luck.
