Re: Unpaided wages

You should consider filing a claim under the Maryland Wage Payment and Collection Act. You can request attorney's fees as part of your claim.

Re: Unpaided wages

The statute under which you would file is the Maryland Wage Payment and Collection Act. The Act requires that an employer pay a former employee all wages that are due for the work that the employee completed prior to termination. In Section 3-501(c), "wages" are defined as "all compensation that is due to an employee for employment." This includes bonuses, commissions, fringe benefits, or any other remuneration promised for service.

You will need to set forth a proper complaint and there may be alternate arguments that you may want to include in addition to the above. You should obtain the services of an attorney.

Obtaining a judgment may be the first step and collection action may be needed. Discuss your situation with an attorney. Other actions may or may not apply.

Re: Unpaided wages

You may be eligible to receive wages totaling three times your unpaid hours in addition to your overtime wages. Further, because you allege that your employer retaliated against you when you inquired into the time of your wage payment, you may be eligible to request front-pay, which can be significant.
