Does a condo board in md. have the right to have a key to my unit and can they hire a locksmith to access my unit and make a key if i do not give them permission?

It depends. What does your condo declaration and rules and regulations state? Most allow the Board to access a unit in case of emergency (burst pipe, fire, etc.). To do so, a key would help. If you give them the key, and the Board misuses the key by entering your apartment for some reason other than an emergency or pursuant to your permission, hire a lawyer and go after the Board.
