Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Maryland
Are court costs chargeable to residents in MD/
Can we charge/make our residents pay for court costs related to the collection of past due rent? How about attorney fees for same? So if a resident does not pay rent and we take the to court - can we charge additional fees?

Good Afternoon,
The answer depends on what is written in your lease agreement. You may want to have the lease form reviewed by an attorney to determine whether it best represents your interests as a landlord.
