Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Maryland
i just moved into a new apartment less than 30 days ago. the plumbing system is not working properly. I have had to call the emergency maintenance line 4 times for feces floating in my shower stall. they attempted to unclogg the toilet however, the problem is related to the drainage system from the apartment above me. do i have any rights related to breaking the lease due to unsanitary conditions?

The remedy in Maryland (unless you live in Baltimore City) is a rent escrow action. You cannot simply move out and break the lease without risking the landlord bringing an action against you.

Good luck.
