Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Maryland
im renting a property on a month to month basis and i didnt sign a written lease when i moved in and my landlord told me last week i have to be out by Dec 1st i havent paid October's rent which my rent is due the 15th of each month because im saving to move out! Just yesterday my landlord left me a nasty message on my cell phone and stated that if i didnt call him back by the end of the day that he would put my belongings out and change the locks so i called him back but only got his voicemail. I want to know what my rights are!

The landlord can have you evicted for failure to pay rent when due. That doesn't mean he can just go in and change the locks. Check out the information at www.oag.state.md.us/publications.htm.
