The length of tenancy does not dictate the tenant's rights, rather the terms of the lease control. Note that if the initial lease term was longer than 7 years this should have been recorded in the land records. In any event, the tenant should review its lease and see what it says about termination and notice to vacate. Sometimes a lease ends upon the landlord's sale, but sometimes it continues with the new owner. (special rules may apply in cases of foreclosure sales) The tenant may wish to talk with the new owner and/or have an attorney review its lease.
