Legal Question in Medical Malpractice in Maryland

Hospital policy of non diclosure to family is this legal?

Can a hospital refuse to disclose information to family (mother or siblings)what they have done to a patient, exactly? Patient is waiting for kidney, and we believe hospital gave patient medication that patient was allergic to, causing patient to be unable to undergo surgery to recieve kidney?
