Legal Question in Medical Malpractice in Maryland
my wife got pregnant, then she went to consult a doctor to confirm and to start prenatal care, the doctor confirmed that she was 7 weeks pregnant, he made several checks including a sonogram and affirm that all was normal a week later I had to take my wife to the emergency room because she was passing out, there she was diagnosed with a ruptured ectopic pregnancy and she went into emergency surgery to save her life. We believe that the doctor who checked and said that the pregnancy was normal make a wrongful diagnosis and that he must answer for the damages caused. What should I do ?

I am sorry for your loss and sad outcome. Medical malpractice claims cannot realistically be analyzed on an online bulletin board. Not every bad result stems from negligence, though some do. To have a viable legal case, an attorney would need to find that the first doctor breached the standard of care. There also needs to be an opinion from another doctor that the medical professional in question messed up and if proper care were given the result would have been different.
You may wish to schedule a consultation with a medical malpractice attorney who can review the medical records and offer an opinion on the viability of your case. While I hope this general information helps please understand that it is not a substitute for getting legal advice on the specifics of your situation.
