I assume you contacted the motel when you fell and obtained the manager's name who on duty at the time. I also hope you took pictures thereafter and identified the cause of your fall.

If the company refuses to answer you after you send a letter certified mail/return receipt to the corporate office, you will have to sue.

Keep in mind, the Motel 6 may be a corporate owned location or a franchise. Nevertheless, the corporate office should give you this information.

The fact that you fell does not, in and of itself, mean you have a good case against the motel. You must prove that they created or ignored a dangerous condition which caused you to fall. For example, if they had recently mopped the floors and didn't put out warning signs, and you didn't realize they were wet and slipped, you would have a basis for a claim. Or if there was a break in a sidewalk that wasn't readily discoverable by you and they knew about it and neglected it, you could base a claim on that. But if you were in the lobby or your room and just tripped for no apparent reason, they will deny your claim. You should have immediately reported the incident to the manager or someone on duty at the motel at the time. These motels are probably franchised, and you might be able to find out who the owner is from corporate headquarters. If you do get in touch with a claims adjuster, find out if they have medical payments coverage, which will pay some medical bills without your having to prove fault. However, since this happened so long ago, they may deny any claim on that basis.
