Legal Question in Personal Injury in Maryland

Car Damages

I was in a situation this weekend where a friend's car was damaged. While I'm not 100% to blame, I have offered to pay for getting the damaged repaired. There is a falling out occuring but I don't think he's taking any legal action - as there is no solid evidence, and no one is really denying anything. But, after I see the quote he gets, what is the best way to pay him to avoid possible problems down the line? Cash? Check? Cashier's check?

Re: Car Damages

Regardless of the mode of payment, what you really need is a full release from your friend which acknowledges payment and agrees that the payment is for full satisfaction of all damages. If properly prepared, the release would give you legal protection against him discovering more damage later on and trying to hit you up for additional money. An attorney could prepare this for you, or you might try to locate a website that has forms for this purpose.
