Legal Question in Personal Injury in Maryland

Cut finger

I was having a finger nail repaired at a nail salon and the manacurist repairing my nail put the acrylic on top of my own nail way to heavy and, therefore, he needed to remove it and to start over to repair the nail. The shop was busy so the manicurist was going back and forth between me and another patron. In attempting to remove the acrylic in a hurry and thinking that he had a good gripe on the acrylic which he didn't the clippers slipped and sliced into my finger which bled quite a bit, and hurt so bad it brought tears to my eyes. I saw a doctor who cleaned the cut and treated it with an antibiotic cream.I'm quite sure that I am entitled to be reimbursed for my medical expenses but do I have legtimate claim to be compensated for pain and suffering? And, if so, what would be a fair and reasonable amount to settle the claim, as I do not wish to take advantage of the situation?

Thanks in advance for any and all responses. It is very much appreciated.

Re: Cut finger

Assuming you have no permanent damage to the finger, such as a scar, or residual pain, you might ask them for $1000 for the pain and inconvenience you experienced. You should find out if they have insurance for this. Also, they are more likely to offer you a bigger settlement if you have an attorney representing you.
