Hi. Does filing a complaint in court saves you from being barred by the statue of limitation, or do you have to file a lawsuit?

Filing a complaint is how you start a lawsuit, therefore it tolls (stops) the statute of limitations.

The lawsuit one files to toll the Statute of Limitations is called a Complaint or Bill Of Complaint.
