Legal Question in Personal Injury in Maryland
Was going home from work in right through lane, line of backed up cars in front stopped, I stopped; individual in company pickup truck passing line of cars scraped my left rear door from rear angling in--he was present in lane reduction transition zone from 2 lanes to 1 lane then left turn lane, with diagonal yellow lines, then took off, turned left; I followed, and he tried to evade me down back road I know very well, that returns to highway in opposite direction--then kept going as I followed him for 18 miles. I was on cell phone with 911 operator for approximately 16 miles behind him following, always in sight and they had me put in flashers when we passed state police car so he was pulled over. I left after officer looked at truck, told me it had damage to front fender, did exchange of information form, and said I wasn't needed anymore. Other driver was apparently being field tested (sobriety) standing on one foot with arms out, etc. when I left.
His insurance company denied claim for minor damage from accident, saying his and my accounts of accident differ and he is apparently denying he was in any accident,
Can I file a hit and run charge or other action against him?
Mine found I did not cause the accident but cannot obtain his statement as they say they cannot release release statement to me due to privacy and vice versa.

You can file a small claim action against him. Go to any Maryland District Court, they will give you the forms.
