Legal Question in Personal Injury in Maryland

Injury on the dance floor

While dancing on a wet dance floor, my partner fell and knocked out his tooth, required 3 stitches, and had to have another tooth removed. He was inebriated at the time, but witnesses saw at least 4 other people slip and fall that night. A security guard did come over to help him off the floor, but no manager came to ask what happened before they took him to the emergency room. When we called the restaurant today they had no idea anything had happened and immediately offered to pay for his medical treatment. Should we stop there, or do we have a case for more? There is no doubt there has been/will be significant time spent fixing this, plus suffering on top of just the injuries.

Re: Injury on the dance floor

I think your friend would have a difficult time proving a negligence case against the owners of the restaurant, but he has nothing to lose by presenting a claim and seeing if they will accept it. The claim would be based upon the amount of his medical expenses, any lost income from work, plus his pain and inconvenience.
