Legal Question in Personal Injury in Maryland
my mother-in law went to court to get a protection order against her husband for domestic violence. when she won getting the protection order the judge also granted her that her husband pay emergency family maintanance to her, being as he was the income in the home when they lived together. after many different court dates, and him not paying her any of the EFM, she filed contempt orders. when the last court date came up, she tried to present the judge with notorized letters from witnesses, and the judge wouldnt take them, becuase she had no persons their in the court room to speak during the case that day. her husband had one witness that lied and said he didnt see anything. the judge dismissed the whole case, which led to the protection order being dropped, and her husband not having to pay any of the EFM. is there any way she can appeal the dismissal, what should she do next?

She needs to hire a family law attorney to represent her immediately. That attorney can advise her on her rights of appeal, whether she can file a motion to reconsider, or whether it's worth simply re-filing a new action altogether. It goes without saying that if you believe your mother-in-law is in physical danger, she should not be left with her husband under any circumstance -- a couch is a lot more comfortable than a hospital bed.
