Legal Question in Personal Injury in Maryland

Privacy

Is it harrassment or breach of privacy for a neighbor who has allready harrassed you in the

past to take photographs of you without your permission? Where does their right to take

the photographs end, and your right to be left alone in utter privacy begin, especially if they

have the intent to use the photos in a slanderous/libalous (sp?) way. I feel harrassed and annoyed by this person doing this, can I charge them criminally or seek civil action?

Re: Privacy

There is no criminal violation as such for taking unwanted photos that the state attorney would consider prosecuting. However, if trespass on your property is involved, that is prosecutable.

If you can show significant disruption of your life by what is happening, you may have grounds for a civil action, but damages will be hard to prove. Your best bet is to seek a restraining order if it's serious enough.
