Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Maryland

How do you add a name to a deed

My husband and I want to add our names to my parents property. What is the correct procedure for doing this and what kind of form (i.e., deed of trust, assignment of mortgage, etc.) is required. Thanks.

Re: How do you add a name to a deed

Your parents need to do a deed from them to them and you. If there is a mortgage, you need to look at the due-on-sale clause to see if this transaction is a default. See a lawyer before you do this, as it can often have SERIOUS adverse tax consequences.
