In this state, a Power of Attorney can provide authorization to execute a deed, so in certain limited circumstances, this may be possible. The strong "no" reaction probably stems from the fact that an attorney-in-fact should never use a POA for their own benefit, nor should they give or sell any property to any third party (even if they have authority to do so) unless it clearly benefits the person who gave them the power of attorney or is at their express direction. I would not recommend taking any significant action under a POA without first consulting an attorney.
