Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Maryland
Breaking Lease Agreement
My brother was robbed at gun point at this appartment.
The robbers stole his car, keys and wallet. They now
know which appartment and building he lives in and
he feels very unsafe remaining at this appartment complex. He is also being treated for manic depression prior to this. Can he break his lease and move out? thanks, mary d.

Re: Breaking Lease Agreement
Read over the written lease agreement very carefully as to how the Tenant can terminate. Look for extraordinary reasons. This would be one of them. Surely, the landlord will not accept the termination. Yr Brother would have to give notice he is quitting the apt. The landlord will most likely sue on the contract but your brother can defend his actions. Call for more information: Joe Trevino 1800-924-6217
