Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Maryland
My car has been in the paint shop for over a year now. It has become ridiculous how long it is taking them to paint it. How do I legally retrieve it and all the parts I have paid for on it? I don't want to just drive it away and lose the thousands of dollars in parts that I have purchased that are inside the body shop still.

If you have paid for the parts you should be able to gain possession of them. If there is an outstanding bill for labor expended on it to date, you will have to pay the shop for that,and then take your car to another shop to finish the job. Before doing this, I suggest you try to find another shop that can do the job and compare timing and prices. This may be difficult, as you may find that other shops don't want to get involved in the middle of a job.
