Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Maryland
how do I change my name on property records
Due to divorce I have changed my name. My ex and I own the marital home jointly. How do I change my name on the property records? The Land records and recording office told me to ''buy'' a blank deed form and get my ex to sign and have notarized the name change. Where do I ''buy'' a deed form? What is it titled?

There is really no need to do this, but if you still want to you should be able to buy a "quitclaim" deed at an office supply store or on line. However, unless you know what you are doing when you complete it, you'll probably make an error, which will make the deed invalid.
