we had a home built on ( his ) property from his inheritence however my name was added to the property before the home was built. We have been in the home as of March 20111 ( 10 ) years and I want my half of the equity so on can leave a very hostile relationship.I live in AA county Maryland.

It depends. You should know that you don't have to get your equity out....you likely own half, including the property itself.
If you and the boyfriend can't agree on a buyout agreement you will have to file a suit for partition. Like any lawsuit, this can be time consuming and therefore expensive, since you will have legal fees and will also have to pay a trustee appointed by the court to sell the property. If it goes all the way through trial you can expect to pay several thousand dollars at a minimum.
