Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Maryland

Deeded property from Parents

My parents who were both ill, deeded their property over to me and my sister, about 2 weeks later, changed their mind and deeded property me. My sister is now threatening to sue me for part of the property.

There was no estate or will as my parents divided up there belongings between us before they passed. They both passed away 3 weeks and 5 weeks after the property was deeded over to me. Does she have any recourse against this property

Re: Deeded property from Parents

Very likely, yes. Once they deeded the property to you and your sister, they no longer owned it. You and your sister did. When they again deeded it to you alone, they gave you something that they did not own. If the first deed was valid, the second deed is a nullity.
